Color should not disturb the user or the design, it should be balanced. Many people choose white for cards and a colored icon, it is the best way.
Mental models which we follow for a long time, it has given us a proper rule to put a contact number in its place and many other things. I love the way to surprise people with micro interactions but careful it should not effect in mobile view. Delight with small things which gives them extra information or help.
